If You Opt for Self-Publishing
Self-publishing can be a great move or a disaster. It’s a great move if you have a ready-made audience to buy your book. For example, it may make sense to self-publish if you are selling at seminars or conferences as an outgrowth of your business and you don’t need a bookstore machine. But it can be a disaster if you’re competing with at least 764,448 other self-published books (the stats for 2009 according to Publishers Weekly) with limited access to bookstores or other book-sales venues.
