There are stories throughout the industry about projects bought quickly on a few slim pages. This is a rarity. It has taken you months to find your agent, more months to polish your proposal, and finally the submission process is underway. Most authors wait for many weeks, even months, to get interest from a publisher. From editorial interest to pub board approval, and finally to an offer, can be another lengthy step in the process. In fact, once you receive the long-awaited offer to publish, it may take additional months for the terms of the contract to be finalized and signed.
