Writers’ Conferences: Writing with Benefits

While you are writing your novel, developing your proposal, or testing your ideas with other writers, consider attending a writers’ conference. It can be enjoyable and keep you in the writer groove.
There are many benefits in going to a writers’ conference, besides the obvious benefit of being away, on your own, and having all day and night to write without interruption. These include the following:
Networking. Writers’ conferences are great ways to meet fellow writers, literary agents, editors, and publishers. These names can be very helpful when it comes time to try to sell your book. You might even be able to get into a conversation with an agent or editor about your idea—a verbal query!
