A Platform’s Six “Planks”
A platform isn’t as straightforward as “I have a doctorate in this” or “I’ve taught my Pilates program to 6,000 women.” You need to include different facets of your outreach campaign to show that you’re a go-getter who’ll be a full partner with a publisher in marketing your book. There are six elements that can create your platform and will make an impression on an agent or editor.
If you have been on television or radio, or have been interviewed in a magazine or newspaper, put it in your platform section.
