Adding Further Details to Profiles

A more in-depth profile can provide valuable information to round out our perception of a person. Invite your members to share simple lists of favorite books and movies as well as more personal notations on marital status, political persuasion, and religious views. These extra bits of background give a more complete sense of a person and his or her values and interests.
If desired, you can create a custom list of questions relevant to your network. For example, a pet-oriented group might offer space to list the types, breeds, and names of the participants’ pets. Have a look at the BuddyPress tutorial in Chapter 21 for an example.
