Make It Easy to Participate

People are extremely busy. To make it supereasy to join your network, have an obvious “sign up here” button on your welcome page. Don’t forget a friendly, easy-to-spot login area for your existing members.
I encourage you to include other sorts of social networks on the welcome page for your site as well. Include a Twitter feed or recent updates from your Facebook page. (We’ll talk more about these social media tools in Chapter 13.) Although you want them to sign up for your network, it may be more convenient for them to add you to their Twitter or Facebook accounts.
