Figuring out what to measure and how to measure it is a big task, at least the first time that you do it. Now comes the all-important assessment phase when you figure out what all the data means. Now’s the time to think like an accountant. Audit what you are doing by looking at the numbers.
Until someone develops an all-encompassing tool to do this, I suggest you create your own dashboard of information in a simple spreadsheet. From the dashboard, look for key figures and trends that indicate the health of your network. Look for numbers that have increased, decreased, or remained the same. Have you grown, remained static, or shrunk?
