Before submitting the plan for final approval, you need to perform one last cross-check of your planning efforts within the project team. This involves a line-by-line matching up of the WBS, schedule, budget, and network diagram, assuming you created these pieces. Computer-based planning software can help by finding impossible dates and durations on the critical path, missing network links (only if they’re obvious), and missing activity data. Even when you use a computer program, however, always check the logistics and flow of your project personally and carefully—don’t assume everything is accurate.
