This chapter highlights a number of challenging situations, especially for new practitioners. Although it is natural for library patrons to ask library staff about copyrighted materials, and it is within the province of librarians to provide assistance with these questions, there can be a breakdown between what a patron wants to know and what a librarian can provide. This issue, as well as other myths and misperceptions surrounding copyright in libraries, will be discussed.
