Although extremely valuable, copyright as a concept remains misunderstood, misused, misconstrued, and generally abused by photographers to this day. Their confusion seems to be the product of fear, and as Rod Serling’s classic work on the television series The Twilight Zone proposes, all fear comes from the unknown.

Knowledge is empowering and, in this case, the only people who should be intimidated by a knowledge of copyright law are those who intend to steal from you. So what is copyright?
