Introduction

The three main types of web page you’re likely to be writing copy for are e-commerce/shopping sites, landing pages and full corporate sites. In this chapter I’m going to concentrate on the third of these. I don’t just mean ‘brochureware’ as it’s disparagingly called, where the site is essentially static. Your site could be a corporate site but with a call to action at the heart of it – whether that’s to try your service, order products, request a demo or free trial, or register for your e-zine. Or a hybrid, where there’s a mixture of company information, user areas and buying pages.

So why not focus on the other two?
