51. Yoga

Yoga is about being rather than doing. It’s non-competitive and a great balancer for the type of exercise you might do at the gym.

Not so long ago, if you admitted you did yoga you’d have been classed as a New Age weirdo and given a wide berth. Today, if you’re not into yoga you’re the weird one. So, get with the programme!

Although yoga has evolved to incorporate quite a few different types, you’re missing the point if you’re using yoga to ‘get a work-out’. Check out Yoga Point for a guide to all the different types of yoga and pick the one that sounds interesting for you. You might want to experiment with the different types by going to a few classes. Or ask around, as friends might be able to give you advice.
