Facts: The most predictable predictor of depression is insomnia. Sleeping less than six hours a night is linked to increased obesity. Sleeping less than seven hours a night is linked to increased mortality.
Depressed, fat, dead. You’ve got to sort this sleep thing out.
If you have trouble sleeping, it’s worth reiterating that insomnia is like losing weight. It’s not enough to know what to do, you have to act on it. ‘Chronic’ insomniacs often stay up half the night drinking tea or alcohol, smoking, watching movies.
