This chapter examines the dynamics of emotions in tourism studies research in the context of reflexivity. The focus is upon the experience of various emotions during interpretive ethnographic fieldwork, rather than researching emotions per se. This process is commonly referred to, from a sociological perspective, as the ‘emotionalization of reflexivity’ (Holmes 2010: 139).
