14. Answers and Questions
Cultures are not abstract notions. They enable strategies and ways of executing them. They are direct contributors to the bottom lines of both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. But, perhaps most important, they influence how we work—together or alone, sharing or protecting ideas, with a sense of community or individual responsibility—and with what amount of joy, personal development, and satisfaction.
Cultures are a distinctly human product of ideals, notions, and actions. They influence both the decision-making process and decisions. In times of adversity, they are the glue that holds people together in the service of common goals.
