Andy Warhol, born Andrew Warhola in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was more than an artist; he was a self-created persona. Following his studies at the School of Fine Arts at Carnegie Institute (now Carnegie Mellon University), Warhol began his career in advertising, which undoubtedly helped cultivate his aesthetic.
