This chapter has introduced you to one of the most powerful declarative features of the Force Platform—workflow and approvals.

A workflow is a way to automatically implement actions in your organization, such as sending emails or setting the values of fields. You can add conditions to determine when a workflow is executed.

Approvals give you the ability to implement complete business process flows, all through a wizard-based interface. You can have multiple steps, optional steps, parallel approvers or even dynamic approval routing. At each step in an approval process, you can implement multiple workflow actions, based on the response of the current approver.
