Service configuration role in the system

Parts of the system needs to be reconfigured whenever any aspect of the cluster changes. A proxy might need an update of its configuration, metrics collector might require new targets, logs parser might need an update to it's rules.

No matter which parts of the system require changes, those changes need to be applied automatically. Hardly anyone disputes that. The bigger question is where to find those pieces of information that should be incorporated into the system. The most optimum place is in the service itself.
