• The Year to a View is a classic calendar diagram.

• It represents the Gregorian calendar that was officially introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582.

• As such, it is divided into twelve months in an attempt to reflect the equinoxes, which is perfectly fine but doesn’t necessarily mean it is a helpful timeline for businesses.

• For better or worse, all the businesses in the world use a Year to a View to represent their financial performance (the financial year), and most divide the year into four quarters, or periods of three months.
