## 6  THE INTERLOCKING WEDGE

• The Interlocking Wedge allows two diametrically opposed approaches to be compared logically.

• The two extremes are placed to the far right and left, approaches A and B. At each extreme the approach taken would be 100% A or B.

• A manageable number of interlocking criteria are then chosen, in this case three: high (100% one approach), medium (60% one, 40% the other) and low (80:20).

• By merging these criteria from left to right and vice versa, the diagram generates a series of possible permutations for resolving the issue.
