The Internet is full of memes mocking people for doing and saying ridiculous things online—and it’s true, a lot of that happens. But in my experience, most of what happens on social media comes from a more genuine, friendly origin. Most people like to share with each other and help each other. We like making friends, and we like keeping them. We’re social creatures, and social media has accelerated our abilities to communicate for a wide range of reasons.
