I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
In This Case, Less Gear Is More
I admit it, I’m a bit of a gear freak. But, the one time I definitely don’t go “big” is when I’m doing travel photography. You’re going to be hopping on and off of all sorts of transportation, from planes to buses to boats to taxis, and as the day goes on, the extra gear you’re lugging around somehow seems like it gets heavier and more of a hassle. After a while, it starts to impact your vacation and your photography. Instead, I recommend going light—take just what you need. Ideally, one lens or, if you must, two at the most.
