Appendix A. What Time Is It?

Photography has stopped time for us. With a camera, we capture an instant, and when that capture happens digitally, we have an automatic record of when that instant occurred. Someday, when all digital cameras are capable of wireless Internet connections, you won’t have to worry about setting your camera’s clock on your own. The current time will be sent to your camera from some bureau of time standards as it is with your Wi-Fi-connected computer or your digital video recorder (like TiVo, which is hooked into a phone line to call mother TiVo each night to confirm the time).
