ANALYSIS TO RESEARCH
Having completed the analysis of the play, the director can now turn to research in order to develop the concept for the production. While the purpose of the analysis phase was to establish needs and/or questions based on the script, the research phase seeks to find possible solutions for them. The analysis may have also identified areas in which the director does not feel secure or areas that need to be verified before proceeding. It is vital that the director does not take anything for granted and that all aspects of the play are thoroughly covered before proceeding. There are a number of areas the director needs to research.
