Chapter 16Learning and Teaching

I've had some success, but it's all relative. My success to some guys is nothing, but to people who come from where I come from and want to do what I'm doing, it's massive success. It also depends on age. I'm not as successful or as known as some people who do what I do, but I'm 32 years old right now. The people who are better known and have more reach have 10 to 30 years of experience over me. Some of them have been doing this longer than I've been living. I'm a firm believer in the mantra that as you learn you should teach. If I learn something today, then in my mind I'm qualified to teach it tomorrow. It's always okay to be the one-eyed king in the land of the blind. If you know something the person next to you doesn't know, then teach them. You can sell some knowledge, and you can give some knowledge. There's a balance that has to be found. I help those who are helping themselves. If there is a really big lesson a person needs to get and I have a course on it, I'll tell them to take my course and then we can talk. If I realize that a person has put in a lot of work already, then I may give them the course for free as a reward for investing in themselves. I've been given help along the way, so I have to give help too.
