7. Maps and Navigation

The advent of the portable GPS receiver (like the one in each Droid) means never having to use paper maps again—if you don’t run out of battery charge, that is! With Google’s free Maps and Navigation apps, you can determine your current location, find businesses and landmarks, view satellite and street-level images, and get turn-by-turn navigation with real-time traffic reports (Figure 7.1 on the next page), all in the palm of your hand.
