A digital cinema production is more cost-effective than a traditional film production. The full scale adoption and standardization of digital cinema technology by the motion picture industry will signify a fundamental change in the way movies are made and exhibited. It is my hope that digital acquisition and computer software will bring the cost of filmmaking lower than ever, eventually relieving the art of filmmaking of Hollywood’s damaging tendency, its hegemony.
