Edge Computing Deployment

Edge computing is early enough in its technology lifecycle that this chapter will likely become obsolete rather quickly. Indeed, some of this is speculation, but that is normal when multiple industries grapple with a new way of using IT. No one knows for sure what is about to happen. However, it makes sense to develop scenarios and assess how they will affect customers and suppliers alike.

To get a sense of how edge computing will be deployed in the field, it is first useful to think through how the edge will evolve as a business model.
