Abstract

Libraries have always collected, processed and made available content. But in the analog age their contribution to the generation of knowledge and wisdom was only marginal because the contents were not linked. On the Internet, the amount of information has exploded. They are available digitally and can and must completely different collected, organised and processed. Only by linking the digital data the library of today and tomorrow directly achieve relevant contribution to knowledge generation.
