50. CREATIVE WHITE BALANCE
WHITE BALANCE SHOULD be one of the first things you consider and set up on your camera before beginning any shoot. Setting white balance as close to the available light source as possible is important in photographing accurate color—especially skin tones. In a world where we generally favor warmer colors over cooler ones, you might consider increasing the warmth of your white balance settings to give the appearance that they were photographed under a warmer light source—which is more flattering to your portrait subject (Figure 50.1 and Figure 50.2).
