48. ADDING FLASH

FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY IS easily one of the most complicated topics in the photographic world. Since we only have one chapter to work with it here, we’re going to try and keep it simple. Flash photography can be broken down to three basic setup options: in-camera flash (camera with a built-in flash unit); add-on flash (a camera with a flash attached to the hot shoe on top of the camera); and off-camera flash (any situation where the camera will be triggering a flash or flashes which are not mounted to the camera).
