27. CREATING SELECTIONS WITH THE MAGIC WAND
THE FIRST TOOL you’ll start working with to make any kind of selection is the Magic Wand. You can access this tool by pressing the letter W on your keyboard, or by clicking on the icon that looks like a little wand with stars around it in the toolbar. (Remember that this tool also cycles with other tools in the group, including the Quick Selection tool.) The Magic Wand tool is great for any type of selection that has solid colors in it, but you will need to make some adjustments to the selection.
