31. USING THE QUICK SELECTION TOOL AND THE REFINE EDGE BRUSH
THE QUICK SELECTION tool is another Photoshop tool that does a really good job of making selections. This tool sits under the same group as the Magic Wand tool, and you can access it with the keyboard shortcut W. It is almost a combination of the Magnetic Lasso tool, a brush, and the Magic Wand. You can specify a brush size and paint over a specific area that you would like to turn into a selection (Figure 31.1).
The Quick Selection tool does a really good job of finding areas that you want to select, and it also has some additional characteristics that I think make it even better.
