Also, the tone in which the candidate offers her ideas is very impor-
tant. Is the candidate’s tone helpful? Or is the candidate describing a
time when she offered advice or input to someone in a way that might
sound demeaning or arrogant? Here’s an example: “I told Joe that the
best way to do the job was to open the port before he started the pro-
cess. I told him, but he didn’t listen to me. It could have saved him a
