7. Wavelets

There is a discipline in the field of digital signal processing called wavelets. As we’ll explain here, wavelet transforms are similar to Fourier transforms except that with wavelets, we can find both the frequency and the time of interesting signal characteristics. Wavelet processing is used extensively in signal and image processing, medicine, finance, radar, sonar, geology, and many other varied fields.
