As humans, we derive much of our happiness from social interactions. Healthy relationships with people enhance our emotional and physical well-being. Over the course of our lifetimes, we’ll form many friendships. We’ll also develop romantic relationships. We allow friends and lovers into our hearts. We invest a lot of ourselves with them, and when we lose friends and lovers we can lose a piece of ourselves. It hurts, and sometimes we grieve for them more than we do a death of someone close to us.
