Chapter 8. How You Can Profit from Chaostan*

An economic system is the result of its legal system.

My newsletter, U.S. & World Early Warning Report for Investors (EWR), uses the two fundamental principles of the old English Common Law as the basis of its legal model. These principles can be expressed in 17 words: Do all you have agreed to do, and do not encroach on other persons or their property. These two laws are taught by all religions. They are "common" (Common Law) to all.

In the absence of these laws, the only possibilities are tyranny or chaos. Genuine liberty and free markets are not possible, because contracts and property rights are not protected.

Chaostan is the most important area that never developed legal systems based on these laws. Chaostan (pronounced "Chaos-tan") is the term I coined in 1992 for the land of the Great Chaos.

In other words, at bottom, there are only three possible political conditions—liberty, tyranny, and chaos. All political systems are variations of these three.

The inhabitants of Chaostan have no heritage or understanding of liberty (how many Americans still understand the system of liberty?), so, in Chaostan there are only two possibilities: tyranny or chaos.

Washington has been removing the tyranny, throwing this third of the world into chaos, and making it into a factory for mass-producing new enemies.
