How are we doing and does it matter?

The brief answer is: a lot worse than we think we are. A research project carried out by the Chartered Management Institute and the DTI showed that while two-thirds of directors thought that their organizations were characterized by a good buzz and a feeling of energy, only one third of their middle management agreed. How would your organization score? Statistically, the chances are that it would not do very well. While 48% of directors thought that their leadership was in touch with how their workforce was feeling, only 21% of those in middle management agreed.
