5. Moving on to Editing
A tip in the last chapter is so valuable that I want to repeat it here: “As an assistant editor, you should organize the editing room so that everything will be clear to anyone coming into the room without any preparation.”
In other words, if you got run over by a truck today, would your replacement be able to take over with minimal confusion? Believe it or not, a large part of your job in the editing room is to make sure you are replaceable. If you’re not around when Wendy needs something, she should be able to find it.
