So what is the future of horror movies?
We’ve had the Asian horror craze, the torture porn, and countless remakes of 1970s and 1980s horror classics. At some point, sequels and the horror franchises will run dry. Studios are big business, and they’re in it to make money. This is why we see them regurgitate the same formulaic films over and over again. When horror movies become more mainstream and less independent, we may be in trouble.
