IF YOU ARE one of the 65,000 students who graduate from a U.S. high school each year but do not have either U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, you are considered to be undocumented. DREAMers, or individuals who meet the general requirements of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, live in every state and hail from all over the globe. Though the DREAM Act has not yet passed as of this writing, the phrase has become synonymous with undocumented students who wish to remain in the United States.
