ENHANCING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY

Why this matters

Despite its explosive growth, it is easy to forget that social media is still a relatively new phenomenon. Most of what we think of as the established social media platforms have only recently celebrated their tenth anniversaries. It is, therefore, hardly surprising that many of us, if we are being honest with ourselves, are struggling to understand how to make the most of these new technologies and the implications for the ways in which we work and socialise.128 It is a struggle that all of us need to embrace, irrespective of age and technological interest.
