While at an intensive three-day course on beef from stockyard to table, I met Franz Sydow, a fellow student, and then food and beverage manager at the Wyndham Hotel, Aruba (now the Westin). A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Sydow created Sake House, a Japanese restaurant that expanded to three locations including Aruba where he moved to open the restaurant.
