Unusual Foley Requests
I was filling in for a Foley artist colleague on the video Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World (1998), which was a sequel to the animated film Pocahontas (1995). The cueing had been executed by a well-intentioned, but seemingly inexperienced editor. One of the cues, a prop cue, was called “magic wind.” While this is a proper sound design concept, and the wind in the original film had a magical quality, this would have been a special design element executed by sound editors.
