Assessing Classroom Dynamics

Abstract

A large part of preparing for one-shot instructional sessions is thinking about the existing culture of the classroom ahead of time. Gaining a sense of this culture can be done through an awareness of the academic student culture in general and a discussion with the faculty member. Having a good sense of this culture will allow the academic librarian to incorporate aspects within session planning to more effectively provide instruction.
