Giving Clear Information
he primary purpose for communicating clearly and pro-
viding information to subordinates is to obtain compli-
ance, performance, and results. Strong interpersonal bonds
between bosses and workers provide opportunities to turn
every assignment into a learning opportunity. This is the sur-
est way to get increasingly precise performance.
Business is all about the numbers. We know how many
sales calls are required to make each sale, what percentage of
new sales can be turned into repeat business, and what has to
be done to make that happen. That kind of information, mul-
tiplied hundreds of times, tells
