Over a decade ago, I asked a senior IT executive what his greatest challenges were. He responded saying “we have one of everything” and “we can kill anything.” What he described was a scenario all too common in large complex IT infrastructure—technological complexity and high transaction volume. Volume is largely a function of business activity.
However, complexity is controllable to a large degree.
