at 3 months and one year after deposition were estimated. At locations
northwest of the Fukushima reactors, the external dose rate at three
months was 4.8-98 uSv/hour and the cumulative dose for one year was
51–1,000 mSv; the highest values were at Futaba and Yamada. At the
schools and the four urban cities, the external dose rate at three months
after deposition ranged from 0.03 to 3.8 uSv/hour and for cumulative
doses for one year it ranged from 3 to 40 mSv. Authors conclude that
radionuclide deposition in soils are important in calculating external
dose rates and cumulative doses and these data should be considered
when formulating countermeasures ...
