There are some great tidbits of information that will clue the bidder into whether or not the seller can be trusted and if he or she is legitimate. The Seller Info section is one of those areas you need to examine carefully and study before you bid on any item. This information is located on the right side of every eBay auction page. The seller info section details valuable information regarding the legitimacy of the seller, including:

When an item is first offered on eBay, always see if the seller will take less than the asking price. You will have a better chance to get a great deal if this item is from a person who maintains an eBay store and not one individual selling one individual item.
The Seller’s Name—This is the eBay user ID for the seller.
The eBay Seller’s Star Rating—This rating denotes positive feedback for the seller participating in this auction. Obviously, the higher the star rating, the more you will trust and will want to do business with this person.
Positive Feedback Percentage—This section shows positive feedback from all bidders listed as a percentage. There is also a hyperlink included which will direct you to the seller’s detailed Feedback Profile.
Ask A Question—Click this hyperlink if you need to ask the seller anything about the auction.
