A Refreshment Stand

When people come to a garage sale, especially in the hot summer months, they’re going to get thirsty. The larger your sale, the longer people will pause and spend time looking at as many items as they can. As a result, they will want something to drink. A refreshment stand at your sale will help make the shopping experience for your guests a much better one. It may also add some extra money in your pocket because people will stay longer if they are not hungry or thirsty. If you have children of your own or know of some neighbor kids between the ages of five to sixteen years old, see if they want to have a lemonade or refreshment stand right next to your garage sale. Having kids selling soft drinks (that’s pop or soda), iced tea, lemonade and/or bottled water will save you from having to run into your house for a cup of water when someone inevitably asks for a drink. Also, consider selling food items at your refreshment stand. These items could include cookies, candy, chips, popcorn or a variety of homemade baked goods. Shoppers will invariably be more relaxed and will have a more enjoyable time at your sale if they can quench their thirst and enjoy a snack! Always remember that if your customers are enjoying themselves, there’s a good chance that they will spend more time and spend more money at your sale.
